About Us
Hi, I'm Marie from Work in The Sports Industry. I'm here to help you land your dream job in sport. If you are just out of school, studying at university, enrolled in a sport course or looking to transition careers you are in the right place.
My Experience
I've been working as an Event Manager in the Sports Industry for more than 17 years. I've worked in Motorsport, Golf, the Winter Olympics, Triathlons and Mass Participation Fun Runs. I've successfully delivered major outdoor events, corporate hospitality functions, awards dinners and sponsor activation's for numerous clients.

I'm here to help you find a job you love. There is a proven method to landing a job in sport. It was the pathway I took when I was transitioning careers more than 17 years ago.
I was working as an Accountant for 7 years. I changed jobs every 1.5 years expecting work to get more exciting. You know what...it never did.
I decided to go back to the drawing board and work out what I was passionate about.
For me - It was SPORT.
I googled sport and jobs, enrolled in a Sport Management Degree and loved every minute of it.
While I studied, I volunteered at major sports events around Melbourne. I also took on a role as Secretary of my local Tennis Club.
Both these experiences gave me sports specific examples I could use on my resume and in job interviews.
The pathway is simple.
Study - Work Experience - Network - Interview
The combination of studying, with real life sports industry experience examples from major events got me my first full-time job at the Professional Golfers Association of Australia (PGA).
Since then I've loved every minute of coming to work. Working in sport is hard work but a lot of fun. You get to work at some of the best sports events in the world and be a part of moments in history.
